I know that I not alone in saying that I am a huge fan of Suzanne Collins and her Hunger Games series. I think that most Young Adult fans have either read or are planning to read her books by this point (if not, you definitely should!). Even though I know how incredible Collins and her books are, I am always amazed when I hear folks who are not necessarily YA readers talking about her and her books.
And now, she's made Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" (yes, world!) under the arts category. I mean, she's right up there with Prince and James Cameron and Lady Gaga. It's not that I think that she doesn't belong there, it's just that I'm a little surprised that the folks at Time knew that she should be there. I love Time and read it cover to cover every week, but I don't expect to see my favorite YA author profiled in it. This is a great step for Time and a great accolade for Suzanne Collins, who certainly deserves it!
